A 50-Year Return to the Fire Within
At age 11, I held my first wood burning set—one of the many art kits gifted by my mother.
She always made sure art had a place in my hands and in my heart.
I decided to embrace my inner child artist.
I received a professional wood burning kit, a few years ago. It sat with the rest of my inner child artist, collection of art kits, for 2 years.
I decided to try it out a few months ago. I watched a few videos, and gave it a shot. It felt challenging at first, then I reunited with the spirit of my 11 year old self.
Now, every piece I create holds the spirit of that reunion: The inner child who never stopped dreaming, the mother who nurtured that dream,
and the woman who turned it into legacy.
